From the beginning, UkraStud has understood that meaningful project results need to reach beyond the organisations that produce them. Dissemination is therefore not an additional activity at the end of the project, but an integral part of the initiative: a way to connect research, educational practice, institutions, and wider European communities.

The project includes a dedicated work package, “UkraStud Promotional Plan and Events,” specifically designed to share and promote project results. Its communication strategy was developed in line with the European Commission’s guidance on communicating projects and focuses on reaching both specialist and wider audiences.

UkraStud brings together partners from Italy, Romania, Türkiye, Croatia, and Ukraine. Each organisation contributes its own institutional networks and communication channels, extending the reach of project messages beyond the immediate partnership.

The planned communication network includes six partner websites, six social media pages, and six newsletter databases, with a combined target of approximately 80,000 subscribers. Project partners also planned to promote UkraStud results through university classes, courses, congresses, conferences, and other relevant events.

This approach reflects the project’s European added value: challenges affecting Ukrainian students are shared across European higher education systems, while institutional responses can differ considerably. Cooperation makes it possible to exchange experiences and work towards stronger and more consistent approaches to inclusion.

The UkraStud website provides a central space for project information, articles, multimedia content, contacts, and project resources. Social media channels help communicate key messages to students, tutors, academic staff, and the wider public, while email communication keeps interested audiences informed about project developments and results.

The project also uses events as opportunities for knowledge exchange. In October 2025, UkraStud organised the international online congress “European Identity and Ukraine: a Social Psychology perspective.

During the final phase, national events were planned in the participating countries, alongside the final international congress in Padua. These events provide opportunities to present project results, discuss experiences, and strengthen cooperation between universities and other stakeholders.

UkraStud’s communication activities target a broad European audience, including university staff, tutors, Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian students, student associations, organisations supporting Ukrainian refugees, ministries and policymakers, research centres, and professional psychology organisations.

This broad approach is important because inclusion requires action at different levels. Tutors and academic staff can apply practical strategies in their daily work; universities can integrate recommendations into institutional procedures; researchers can build on the evidence generated by the project; and policymakers and professional organisations can support wider adoption.

Every communication channel can become an opportunity for action. The UkraStud dissemination approach explicitly encourages external individuals and organisations to download the project results, adopt them personally, or propose their use within their own institutions.

In this way, dissemination creates a bridge between project outputs and their potential long-term impact. The objective is to ensure that the knowledge, tools, and recommendations developed through UkraStud can continue to inform inclusive practices beyond the project’s immediate partnership.
