What is the project about?
UkraStud – Supporting the Inclusion and Well-being of Ukrainian University Students
UkraStud is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to promoting the inclusion, well-being and successful university experience of Ukrainian students in European higher education institutions. The project responds to the challenges faced by Ukrainian students who continue or begin their university studies in a new educational, social and cultural environment. UkraStud aims to strengthen the support provided by tutors and academic staff and to create more inclusive higher education environments. The project develops a model of inclusion based on research involving Ukrainian university students, with the aim of understanding the factors that influence their social inclusion, psychological well-being and university experience. The findings provide the foundation for practical tools and recommendations that universities and academic staff can use in their everyday work.
A key result of UkraStud is the development of practical guidelines and protocols addressing three important dimensions of student inclusion: social inclusion, the transition from university to the labour market, and psychological well-being. These resources are designed to help universities move from general principles of inclusion to concrete actions and support measures.
The project also provides an online training course for university tutors and academic staff, supporting them in developing the knowledge and skills needed to better respond to the needs of Ukrainian students. The training is complemented by research findings, practical recommendations and tools for improving student support.
UkraStud brings together partners from Italy, Türkiye, Romania, Ukraine and Croatia, combining expertise from universities and organisations working in higher education, research, psychology and training. The partnership includes the University of Padova, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, International European University, University of Zagreb and Igor Vitale International.
